Nail : Christmas snow flake

Hello~!!! An early Christmas greet~ Merry Christmas lol~

Today's tutorial is about christmas again... yeeeeah~!!! Yup... I said it before we are going to have a few more christmasy videos coming up.

What can be more completely to paint your nail in the festive and iconic snowflake pattern in this time of the year. So today we are going to do a nail tutorial on snowflake nail design which is a little special since I will be using a very easy to handle paint (well not really paint but pigment) to draw on gradient effect which is a more sheer and translucent way of doing it. This nail art is subtle yet elegant and festive. Hope you enjoy~!

To start off, you will need:
1) Base coat - PritiNYC #705 2-in-1 Top / Base coat
2) Clear glitter polish - Color club #902 Covered in Diamonds
3) White nail polish - Estessimo #01
4) Top coat - GOSH #F3 Top coat for french-manicure
5) Pigment (shimmer/pearl eyeshadow) - GOSH color pigment #Purple rain  & #Azure
6) Card / paper
7) Tooth picks
8) Sponges (cut in smaller pieces)
9) Tweezer

Step by step & video:

1) Apply base coat to protect your nail and wait dry.

2) Apply a layer on glitter nail polish.

3) When it is still tacky, use sponges, gently press the purple / blue color pigment to the tip of your nails. The great thing to use pigment is that it is super easy to clean up and the effect is so amazing. Yup... no more messy clean up steps.

4) Apply clear glitter polish on top and wait dry.

5) For the big snowflakes, draw on 1 stroke and 2 strokes crisscross over it, then add on what ever decorative pattern you want, you can do little strokes or dotted spot over it.

6) With tooth picks, pick up white nail polish draw on some random dot as snow.

7) Follow up with top coat to seal up the design and wait dry.

Then you are done!!!
Super easy, mess-free, subtle and elegant~ ^^

Haircare : Tips for healthy voluminous hair

Hi Guys, it's been a while I haven't update my blog. :P... but I am doing it now haha~

Thought it will be interesting to blog about how I treat my hair. My natural frizzy wavy hair that I got from my grandma is really borders me, well not that I super hate it but it really takes a lot of attention to just manage it. ><

Okay, I have natural frizzy hair which usually have a lot of volume and tends to get really really DRYYY... so the main things to keep it control is to moisturize and don't over wash it.

So this is what I normally do to my hair in regular basis:

1) Use moisturizing shampoo & lots of conditioner :P
shampoo just the root & scalp and condition from an inch above your ear to the ends

2) Use warm or much better cold water to wash your hair
Hot water will open the scales of the cuticle and tends to remove oil more effective. To keep the scales close, use cold water instead.

3) Don't over wash you hair
In summer time, I try to wash my hair every other day and even every 2 day in the winter time. Just to keep the moisture in my hair. My scalp is not oily and my hair is really dry as I say so don't over wash it.

Your scalp will produce oil to balance and protect it but your hair don't, so... wash them just at the root, moisturize just the body of your hair, don't over wash it then you are good to go. ^^

4) Weekly pre-wash oil treatment
Once a week I will try to make myself free for my coconut oil hair treatment, which actually really simple...

Take coconut oil on you palm, rub it through until it becomes liquid and massage it to your "HAIR" avoid touching your scalp. Then tied or clip it up and let it sit for at least 2 hours or even overnight.

Next day morning just follow your regular shampoo and conditioner as usual.

5) Air-dry / Blow-dry you hair with low to medium heat
I normally go for air-dry hair but I usually running out of time, so I will blow-dry my hair before I sleep. Use low to medium heat and just blow dry the root instead of the body. Same reasons try not to open the scales of cuticle so it will get less frizzy.

6) Apply anti-frizzy serum if need

7) Clip it up when you hair is still 20% damp and sleep with it

So the next day morning when you unclip your hair, give it a good little shake and your hair will looks really shinny, voluminous and less frizzy (I can't say it is frizz-less but much better than if I just leave it there lol).

I hope you enjoy this blog post and find it helpful.
Thanks for watching XO

How-to: Finding ... ur perfect match!!!

Hello everybody,

Today I am going to share with u some of my tips & tricks in finding your perfect matching foundation!!! Yeah!!!

So I know how hard it is in picking perfect color matching foundation in the drug store and me myself as well have tried so many time. Picking & trying & testing... usually takes me more then half an hour to figure out with shade "MAY BE" suit me... T.T

Okay, so here I am sharing my own experience and tips to find your perfect matching foundation in drug store. ^^

So as normally in drug store environment  we don't have the sale ladies helping us to pick up the "Right" matching shade and yes gals, we are completely on "OUR OWN" and it is even more sad in Hong Kong as we don't even have the return policy... >.<

But... you don't have to worry anymore... here it is a few tricks in picking your "PERFECT"shade...

Video demonstration:

Tips:
1) Wear an open-neck / V-neck shirt

It might sounds a little weird but it is very true to prepare yourself. As we are going to test the foundation using our neck or chest area. Never test foundation on your face... It will match your face but It won't match your neck and chest area and a lot of time we don't have perfect matching neck and face... (I am a little dull and redness on my face white comparing with my neck).

So you need to test it right there. Right at the "NECK / CHEST" area. :P

2) Don't believe what you see at the bottle

Don't be too lazy to place your face right next to the foundation bottle. Try the tester...
As normally what you see in the bottle is usually not the color that is going to show up on your face. Moreover, they are actually... not that accurate.

3) Wait 5-10 minutes

Foundation tends to oxidant a little bit, the shade you freshly swatch on your neck and chest area usually goes a little lighter than what u will see after 10 minutes. So... give it a good amount of 5-10 minutes before you check up the mirror. The foundation will be more true to color at that time. ^^

4) Try to test 2-3 shade at a time

Don't test out just one color, try 2-3 shade at a time and compare it in different lighting.
You will see the difference in yellow light and white light. It is going to help your judge and compare the right shade.

So here you have my tips on picking up your "PERFECT" match!!!
Hope you guys like it and find this helpful.

Nail : Chipping Re-do 2

Hellooooo...

You guys still remember I have a nail tutorial on how to re-design your chipped nail so you can keep your nail color for a little longer!? :P

Today we are going to do another style and again with your chipped nail or "shrink" nail... well it happens to be quite obvious to me that about 2-3 days, my freshly done nail start to shrink a little bit (well actually I know the reasons... as i haven't put on my top coat ... :P Lazy me!!! )

Okay, back to the theme today. Chipped nail re-do #2 ^^

So let me take you from this...

to this!!!

Tools:
On my nail, I have already apply 1 coat of base coat and 1 coat of light grey color.
Sorry guys, not sure about the light grey color is from which brand but this color is gorgeous.

Already on my nail:
1) Nutra nail - Base coat & Ridge filler + Green tea
2) Light nudy grey color

Other tools to prepare:
3) Add on top up color of your choise
I am choosing a brown shimmer color this time.
4) PritiNYC - #705 2-in-1 Top / Base coat
5) Scotch tape / any stationery tape
6) Scissors
7) Tweezer ... optional

Video demonstration:

Steps:
1) Cut tape in sharp square with straight edges
To cut off tape into small square that can fit your nail. Prefer to use scissors so you can easily create sharp straight edges

2) Cover nail bed with the square shape tape
With the corner placing in the middle of your nail along nail bed

3) Push to make sure there is no gap in between
Push the tape as close and fit to the nail bed as possible as to prevent any gap create in between. So later on when you add on polish, the nail polish won't leak through those spaces.

4) Simply paint on your top up color

5) Peel off the tape
*This step need to be done before the nail polish dry. You can use a tweezer for easy handling.

6) Wait for 15 minutes... to let it dry completely.

7) Add top coat to seal your design.
Generous amount of top coat is added and don't forget the tip area. It can prevent your nail design from chipping again :P

8) Wait until it dry completely.

Yeah! And you're done.!!! Nice and easy.
Looks like you spend a long time doing it but it actually takes you last than half an hour.

Nail : Colorful splash

Hi guys~

Today we are going to do this really cool splash of color nail art. ^^
Want to know how to do this, well it actually quite easy to achieve as long as you have the right tools.

Preparation:

1) Base coat
Nutra nail - Base coat & Ridge filler + Green tea

2) Base color
Bandi - #SH302 Light Violet

3) 3 other nail polish color of your choice
i BYS - Matte Purple #N240
ii Color Plus - #888 Gossip Column
iii Depend - #Nr 034

4) Top coat
GOSH - French Manicure #F3 Top Coat

Tools:
a) Straws
b) Paper
c) Tape

Video demonstration:

Steps:

1) Apply base coat & wait dry.

2) Apply 1 coat of base color & wait dry (again :P)

3) Wrap around your nail with tape to cover the area as we will get really messy afterwards. ^^ Simply take a long tape and wrap around the two sides of your nail and a shorter tape for the nail bed area.

4) Open all the nail polishes cap

5) Get your paper in place, dip a few drops of nail polish on the paper

6) With your straw, dip the tip of the straw into the polish and then just blow over your nail. Yup... just that easy. ^^

7) Follow with the other 2 color. Remember to use the sheer nail polish at the very last and while changing nail polish color. Cut off the tip of the straw otherwise you will mixing the color.

8) Remove the tape and clean up the edges with nail polish remover

9) Wait dry ... (This part is very important as the nail polish will be kind of thick to work with in case you don't let it dry completely)

10) Apply clear top coat to seal your design. Dont' forget the tip as well, it can prevent your nail design from chipping.

Then you're done!!!
Really easy huh~ ^^

Nail : Half moon w bling bling rhinestone

Hi guys, today is a very simple half moon nail style with ...
a little "bling blink" haha~ ^^

Video demonstration:

To begin with, let's take a look at the thing you need to prepare.

Preparation:
1) PritiNYC #705 2-in-1 Top/base coat
It is important to find a base coat that is toxic chemical free, as this is the 1st layer to get in contact with your nail, also act as a barrier to keep you away from all those unknown toxins.

2) GOSH #44 Snow

3) Bourjois #10 Rouge Poppy

4) Seche Vite Dry fast top coat

5) Round stationery sticker

Additional tools for rhinestone

a) Dotting tools / tooth pick

b) Rhinestone

Step:
1) Base coat and base color
Apply base coat to protect your nail and follow with 2 coat of white nail polish, wait dry!

2) Stick on sticker
Use stationery sticker, stick it right on the nail bed, my nail is pretty big so I am doing it a bit further so the half moon will look more obvious.

Remember to stick it tight so the nail polish won't leak into the gap.

Probably will look like this when done~ :P

3) Color coat
Paint your nail with any color that you love, I've obsess with this bring coral red color from Bourjois. So bold and bright but femmine. ^^

4) Remove sticker
Use a tweezer to remove the sticker right away before the nail polish dry.

You can probably stop right here and add top coat as finish steps.

but I am going to add a little bling bling :P

5) Arrange rhinestone
Use your base coat as adhesive, paint a little on the line where the red color meet the white.

With your dotting tools, dip a little base coat on the tip as well for easy pick up of tiny little rhinestone, then arrange and attach the rhinestone. Wait until dry!

6) Top coat
Apply decent amount of top coat to seal your design and avoid chipping. ^^

You're DONE!!! Very easy~ ^3^

Cooking : Imitate Shark Fin Soup 自家足料 - 碗仔翅

Hi Guys, today we are going to cook~
Yeah!!! I know you would be excited whenever I come up with a cooking recipe~ :P

Okay, usually I go for either dessert or western kind of food. But today we are actually going to cook chinese dishes. And it is a very popular street food / snack / refreshments in Hong Kong, which is Imitated Shark Fin Soup. ^^

Food is as it name, an imitation of Shark Fin Soup which is a more low-cost and popular substitute of the real shark fin soup we usually eat in chinese wedding banquet. But as eco as we can be, we better not to hunt and consume shark fin anymore. Therefore, we cook an imitated one which taste almost the same as the real one does. In my opinion, even better~ :P

So let's jump into the preparation first...

Video Demonstration:

Preparation:

We will need to prepare two dry ingredient
1) Black fungus
2) Chinese shiitake mushroom

They will need to soak in warm water for at least 6-7 hours before cook. Well as this process is quite time-consuming so I suggest to soak them before night. To avoid it not tender enough while cooking. :P

Ingredients:

1) Black fungus x 7-8 pieces
2) Chinese shiitake mushroom x 6-7 pieces
3) Skinless chicken leg x 1
4) Lean pork HK$15
5) Glass noodle x a bundle
5) Egg x 1

Soup
6) Chicken stocking x 1 whole box
7) Boiling water x 2 bowl

Seasoning
8) Old soy sauce x 1tbsp
9) Sesame oil x 1/2 tbsp
10) Salt (little bit)
11) White pepper (little bit)

Thickening
12) Water chestnut flour x 2tbsp
13) Cold water x 4tbsp

Steps:

1) Glass noodle soak in cold water until soft, drain & cut into half.

2) Beat up the egg and set it aside.

3) Chinese shiitake mushrooms, black fungus drain.

4) Remove the hard stems of the chinese shiitake mushrooms using kitchen scissors.

5) Press chinese shiitake mushroom using the side of chinese kitchen knife.

6) Then cut both chinese shiitake mushrooms and black fungus into thin slices.
(While cutting black fungus, you can fold them up or squeeze them up for ease o cutting)

7) Chicken leg remove bone and skin then cut into thin slices, so as lean pork.

8) When all the ingredient is cut into thin slices, set them aside first, we are going to prepare our stocking.

9) Turn on high heat, pour in whole box of chicken stocking into the bowl and add 2 bowl of boiling water, bring it to bowl.

10) Add in pork and chicken slices first, they will need more time to cook.
(Use a chopstick the separate them so they can heat up evenly)

11) Then add in chinese shiitake mushroom, black fungus & glass noodles and bring it to bowl again.

12) After it boil, add in seasoning and stir well (remember to mix-well before add to the soup)

13) Right after you stir in the seasoning, you can add in thickening, again mix-well before you add it to the soup. Continue stirring until the soup is thicken, you can tell by looking at the water bubble, it should looks a little bit gluey.

14) Turn off the heat and stir in the beaten egg. When adding egg to the soup, put chopstick into the soup and keep stirring in circular motion to create the PERFECT "Danhua" :P.

Yeah!!! You're done!!! Yummy!!!

Mum... this dishes you will need more patient in cut all the ingredients as
the preparation time is way longer than the actually cooking time.
And cooking basically don't need much of technique. :P

Real easy and taste delicious~ <3
