Nail : Basic - Nail Care Rountine

Hi Everyone, Happy Lunar New Year!!!
Today I am going to share with you my go-to basic nail care routine.

Actually my basic nail care is really simple, I try to keep it low maintenance and as easy as possible. Thanks for everyone who compliment on my nails. I do take good care of it to achieve good nail foundation.

My key is to keep the damage to the lowest, don't always expose your nail to skin drying acetone and other toxic chemical that could ruin your nail.

So, for those who are interested in this topic, please keep reading. LoL

The following content will break down into 3 sections.
  • Nail polish removal
  • Nail clipping
  • Secret tips
Before we go into the actual procedures, we need to prepare some necessary which is very basics I am sure all of you have those tools at home.
  1. Cotton pad
  2. Nail polish remover
  3. Nail clipper with nail file
  4. Great base-coat of any kind (Make sure it is safe and non-damaging)
  5. Your favorite color nail polish
Nail polish removal

As you see I am wearing a very Bold color from the start, which is perfect to show you how bold color polish is way more difficult to remove and involve more patient. ^^

Step 1: Cleansing
This step is a general cleaning to remove most of the nail polish from your nail.

Step 2: Double clean
To further deep clean, this time we go over the same procedure but focus more on the gab between the nail and your finger and also nail bed to complete remove the stain.

See how double clean makes a different...^^

Before

Double clean left-over

After

Step 3: Shower
After cleansing, I will probably go for a shower which is a perfect time to get rid of any left-over coloring and also acetone chemical on your nail. And of course after shower you will need some body lotion which makes this step a one-step to clean and pamp your nail at once. ^^

Nail clipping

Step 4: Nail clipping
When comes to nail clipping, as my nail tends to have a round shape at the root. I always go for a straight and flat style when clipping my nail which makes my nail more elegant and not too girly. (Just my personal preference, girls with round shape nail is too girly... :P)

So when clipping my nail, I will first go straight across. Leave about 1-2mm away from the skin. Never get to close to the skin, if you want to grow your nail faster and longer.

Too close to the skin will easily cause those tissue towards to end to shrink and move backward. Which I am sure you probably don't want to. ^^

So after I clip straight across, I will then trim the 2 shape edges at both side. Just to avoid my nail from break apart at the corner. Just a pure mechanic theory ... haha~

After

If you find your nail is too shape, you can always go over the rough edge with the nail file.
Be sure to do it in 1 direction, back and for will just damage your nail.

Step 5: Base-coat
So afterward all you need is a great base-coat, after that you can...

Step 6: Pain whatever you like...

Secret tips

*Make sure you give your hand a week off every month, your nail also need some rest to get alway from all this chemical treatment.

*In choosing the color of your nail polishes, choose color lend on the pale and not too dark color to avoid color from staining your nail.

Hope you all find this helpful.

Haul : Lush Collective Haul~

Hi Everyone, today I am going to show you my haul from LUSH. And yes I am obsess with this brand recently and the products I show you below are my collection from the early 2011 November till now. I can almost fill my everyday life with lush scent in everything...

Yes in EVERYTHING. hahaha

From soap to conditioner to perfume to body powder... :P

First of all, the very first thing I had purchased from LUSH is actually a soap collection gift set for my friend, haha... There is always a good excuse when you want to try out a new brand, why not buy their product as a gift for your friend and then ask about how their opinion on it :P.

Sorry my friend, you are my little lab mickey...

So far Lush gift for my friend has come back with a pretty good feedback, which somehow just give me a much better confidence on trying their product and I always keep an eye on it.

The very first thing that I have tried out is their bubble bar, I always want to bring alone a LUSH bubble bar with me whenever I go to somewhere else... like a holiday trip - when you go to resort.  What make you feel more relax than having a hot bubble bath in such a relaxing moment. ^^ My very first bubble bath... is this

It foams up like crazy and the bubble stay for a good 20-30 minutes. All you need is to crack it under running water, the bath water will turns a little pink is so creamy and smooth. After you finish, you just wash out and lightly rinse or shower, it leave you skin super soft and smooth... LoL. Really suitable for resort time.

I actually brought 2 soap in the early November, which is...

The honey one is LUSH signature soap and is their best seller, which have a decent sweet scent and is not super sugary type of scent. It is nice and soft kind of smell. I love it which is very moisturizing it won't feel tight after you use it but indeed it gives you a refresh feeling of clean. LIKE!!!

The bohemian I haven't even open it, but I am running out of my honey soap... :P will start using it right away. Bohemian soap got a lovely citrusy scent which is always my type of scent, I always like fruity more than floral. Fresh lemon and coconut oil, yup... I smell ME!!! haha

Other then their famous soap product, I also really interested in their hair product, especially their shampoo bar. The sales there told me with just 1 shampoo bar can last for about 40 times usage which could possibly be for more than a month. Well, sounds amazing!!!

Together with Veganese conditioner... love this conditioner... highly recommend this, if you like lemon scent it particularly smells like the SUGAS candy in lemon flavor. OMG love this one. It give my hair super smooth and soft.

Other product from Lush I purchase and want to try out is their hana hair dye. Wonder how natual and organic hair dye will works out on my hair.

As you see I got pretty dark hair, so... will see how it work out, will give a much detail review on this. :P excited!!!

The follow section is all about scent - is their body powder and solid perfume

Like jasmine scent, smells so clean and girly.

椰子止汗香體粉 COCONUT DEODORANT POWDER

Soft sweet scent of coconut and it is a deodorant powder. Mum, natural organic deodorant... I have a pretty high hope on it. Will test it out in the summer time :P

意式誘惑香水 TUCA TUCA SOLID PERFUME

Lightly scented with vanilla... (This one I don't know how to describe... is really a LUSH scent). Almost like the scent you smell when you walk into LUSH store.

色情男女香水 LUST SOLID PERFUME

My favorite scent out of 3, is Jasmine, jasmine and very strong jasmine. It feels good even just open it. >=<

This one is for my boyfriend, is lemon scent... haha of course my favorite, and is more a unisex scent than the other 2.

Two more items I purchase from LUSH, one is their color-supplement...

It acts like a foundation, the consistency is kind of thick and difficult to blend... so I think I will mix it up with my moisturize and then use it as a light tint. It got a pretty good buildable coverage too. Not bad.

Okay last one I got it for FREE.... Yup as I spend a LOT there... :P

This is a toothy tabs which acts like toothpaste. You use it when you brush your teeth, take one and then chew it, it will foam up in your month then you can brush your teeth as normal. Sounds interesting again... haha. It is portable and easy to take with me everywhere huh... convenient. ^^

I should find sometime for a holiday. Therefore I got a chance to use them all. Well, make a LUSH holiday...:P That's all I have got from early 2011 November to this year early January....

Overall, LUSH product is so interesting and fun. Fill up with scent and excitement. Love it so far. Especially the conditioner and perfume ^^

Hope you all like this haul. Let me know if you have any LUSH favorite.

Would love to hear from you.

Love,
Gobby

2011 My Favorite Nail Polishes

Hello, this post is about my favorite nail polishes in the year 2011.
They are all my favorite which I always reach for.

I basically like to wear nail polishes of nude, gold, red and blue.
All this 4 colors compliment my skin color so well make my hand so bright and light. ^^
(I don't even need any whitening serum for my hands, just paint them :P)

1) Bourjois - # Blanc raffine 91

Reason I love about this is because of its very special brush, the brush tip is in a curve shape which can get to the most difficult area (the two side of the nail tip) when you paint your nail. It allow you a better control of the angle and make french tip such an easy job. Love this, I always use this for my basic french tip, nude or pale pink base and white french tip.

2) Essie - #304 Jazz

Last year 2011 which nude color is very on trend, almost every girl should have their own bottle of nude nail vanish at home. This one matches my skin perfectly. Such an elegant touch when you tired of wear bold and deep color. Go for the nude to give you an extract feminine look. Sophisticated and charm. ^^

3) Priti NYC - #673 Hardy Water Lily

Same color tone but will looks of glittery sparkle is one from Priti NYC. Love the metallic gold color but not so bold gold, more on the rosy color of gold. It reminds me of the candy wrapping of easter chocolate egg. Memory that sweet and happy.

4) Priti NYC - #538 Darjeeling

If you like cute color and bright nail. This one is perfect for you. It is a dolly pinky color which is super girly. Pair this nail vanish with cute sport wear or girly outfit. "Miss Adorable" will be your name.

5) Priti NYC - #369 Magic Man Iris

Go for edgy looking day again want to look professional and cool at work. I will wear this super deep red color fro priti NYC. It is bold strong and at the same time elegant and sexy.

6)The Face Shop - Nail Talk #RD301

Every girl should at least have a bottle of red nail vanish. It is classy and signature. But when comes to different shades of red, this one matches me perfectly. It is bright bright red but at the same time not too out there which just right in balance.

7) Revlon - #903 Hot for chocolate

Another favorite deep color which is Revlon Hot for chocolate. I prefer to wear deep color on a more red tone or yellow tone as it give more warmth to my hands. It compliment my skin tone more when compare with black deep color in green hue like deep grey which make my hands looks a lot more yellowish.

8) O.P.I - Russian Navy Suede #NN R54

In the mid 2011 matte shade is super duper cool, I got this blue one together with a like brown matte color but it turns out this one looks better on me. It is glitter base and matte blue. Look very nice on my hand but it chip so easily. I constantly wear this one but I literally need to reapply it or remove it not more then maximum 4 days.... I wish OPI could come up with a better formular on this nail vanish. I will definitely buy it for sure.

9) GOSH - Vernis A Ongles #566

Another metallic shade of blue which i enjoy a lot in 2011 is from Gosh. This is a ocean light blue color in metallic. One coat is good enough which is so awesome.

10) Revlon - Gum Drop

This one is special, I rarely wear light nail polish as light color tend to make my hands look really dark. But this one is special, it is a lavender cream color from revlon. Again it make my hands looks so nice and bright which a little feminine touch ... :P

And it is scented... smell like grape candy, sweet and fruity scent. The scent can keep up to 2 or 3 days. ^^ Lovely.

Other than all best 10...every girl should have this...

11) Priti NYC - 2-in-1 Base Top coat

Yes... a great and safe base coat

Priti NYC is all about eco-friendly and safe nail polish.

• They are made without toluene, dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and formaldehyde- all known carcinogenic ingredients.
• Fast drying, chip resistant, contain a UV inhibitor, and are extremely durable and glossy.
• They are also completely safe for use on children and moms-to-be.

So before crazy about next year nail trend, be sure to protect your pretty nail and hands first, wear something safe and to reduce the harmful effect of toxic chemical in nail polish.

Be safe and pretty.

Love you all my beautiful ladies,
Gobby
