Review : "Suncoat" nail polish

Hello everyone~!

Today's topic is - Review on a nail polish brand "SUNCOAT"

I actually purchase 1 of their nail polish from iherb.com and the color is very very pretty… a dual chrome blue and green tone. Most interesting part of this nail polish is that it actually can peel off without any nail polish remover and it is water-base which is healthy for your nail and your body as well. That's why I order 2nd time and purchased a few more of their polishes from 2 of their line "SUNCOAT girl" & "SUNCOAT polish & peel".

First off, let's talk about the different between this two lines. Well basically their formula is the same. The only different I can tell is from color range.

"SUNCOAT polish & peel"

This line is more target to the sophisticated young women which most of their color tend to go to the lady-like and decent color range.

I have purchased the most BOLD blue color out of the range which is this one called "Lovely Lapis" and a brassy brown color called "Capacabana".

Other than that, most of the color is more on the wearable side like - earth tone, warm braze, earthy green, creamy pink …etc. Not too crazy color which will be perfect for office lady.

"SUNCOAT girl"

As by the name, this line is for children and young teen girl. Color range is more fun and bold. Large selection on red hue like - cherry red, sunny shine carol, lovely golden pink, bold yellow … etc.

Moreover, most of the nail polish from this line is dual chrome - meaning that they will have a base color and when light reflect on it will have a 2nd color sheen on it.

You will see what I mean in this picture below…

I have purchased a golden pink dual chrome color called "Eye Candy" together with my 1st purchase one which is "Mermaid Blue". Both of them are lovely color and "Eye Candy" reminds me of goldfish scale. haha~ LOVE!!!

Formula

Water-base and organic.

These two lines of SUNCOAT nail polish are using NONE of the following toxin chemicals: Phthalate plasticizers, Toluene, Formaldehyde, Acetates, Alcohol, Glycol ethers, FD&C dyes.

Virtually odor-free. Releases water vapor when applied, not toxic chemical fumes.

To remove, all you need is soak your nail in warm water, then peel from one corner… which makes clean up so so quick and easy.

Notice

You need a good coat of 2 at least or even 3 to clean grease-free nails to achieve the color you see in the bottle. Dry fully between coats.

As nail polish will peel off if you soak your nail in warm water (or maybe shower or bath). Extra top coat is need to seal up the nail polishes so it will keep much longer.

I can wear this nail polish with top coat for up to a week. Really not so bad~ ^^

My thought…

I personally love this type of nail polish. Mainly because they are organic and healthy without toxic chemical. Between the two I even love the "SUNCOAT girl" series much more as the color is more fun to look at.

But nothing is perfect…

I honestly say if you use this type of nail polish you definitely need to prepare more time in coat them layer by layer, which somehow could take an extra 45 mins for you to finish your regular nail routine when compare to using drugstore nail polish.

To me, it is fine. However, for those of you are looking for convenience, quick dry… this might not be a great choice for you.

So keep an eye on it. I think there are still some great brand out there could fulfill all our wanted, great color, dry quick, great consistence, easy to apply and healthy. Hopefully something like this will be in the market soon… ^^

Nail : Inverse star pattern

Hello everyone~

I know a lot of you like to change up your nail color.
So.. when you like to change it ??? A week ? 3-4 days ? or less haha~

Today I am going to show you how to dress up your plain color nail.
Especially those of you like to change your nail style right away.

This star nail style particularly suitable for 2nd or 3rd day nail.
Which means you can paint you nail with whatever base color,
just on top add on another layer of whimsical pattern.

:: Inverse star pattern nail ::

I hope all of you like this tutorial and have fun ^^

So here we go the basic tools you will need:

1) Base coat - Priti NYC 2-in-1 top and base coat
2) Base color - The Face Shop #OR201
3) Top coat - Priti NYC 2-in-1 top and base coat
4) Star sticker
5) Top nail color - Missha The Style Lucid nail polish #GR01
6) Tweezer

For sticker you can pick what ever you like, it can be polka dot or anything... I just find star patter is a lot more fun to watch... Well it makes me happy anyway haha~ :P

Steps:

1) Start off with two days old nail
To start off, you will need an one day or two day old nail. :P
Yes as we will need to stick on some sticker to create the pattern, so the base color will need to be dry at least 24 hours so when you peel off the sticker, it won't cause the base color to peel off.

I already apply 1 coat of base coat, 2 color of the coral color nail polish and then 1 coat of top coat on the day before I film this tutorial.

2) Stick on some sticker to create pattern
Carefully peel off the sticker and just place them randomly depends on how you like it. ^^
Go FREESTYLE LoL.

* Make sure there should be NO GAP between the sticker and the nail, otherwise the nail polish will sneak through and you may not get that sharp straight line you want.

3) Apply the top color

This case I am using the green nail polish color. Just paint on a thin even coat.

4) Peel off the sticker RIGHT AWAY!

Yes, you don't have to wait, just peel it off immediately. Waiting until the color a little bit dry may end up with a flaking off of bigger piece of nail polish... which I am sure we don't want.

* You may need a tweezer to help if needed.

5) Continue painting with same technique for the whole hand.

6) Wait for at least 15 mins until it dry

7) Apply a generous amount of top coat and wait for at least 30-45 mins.

Be sure to use light handed stroke and thick coat of top coat, just to prevent the pattern from swiping away and then...

YOU'RE DONE!!!
Just that simple.

I hope you all like it &
I shall see you in my next blog post or vlog. :P

Nail : Nail discoloration !?

Hello~ Today's topic is about:

Yellow discoloration of nails:

Nails that are yellow in color can reflect an internal health issues, disorder or can be a product of your habits or the way you care for your hands. Here are some...

Common cause of yellow discoloration:
1) Medical Problem
2) Nail Fungus
3) Smoking
4) Excessive use of nail polish (dye)

1) Medical Problem:
If you have suffer from sudden change in nail color, it might be a sight of some health issues like liver, lung or kidney disease, diabetes, nutritional deficiencies, lack of iron and zinc.

2) Nail Fungus
Early sign of nail fungal infection is yellow or brown discolorations… Fungus once get into your nail can produce pigment that result in yellowish or brown nail.

Follow by a more serious signs like flaking of nails or unpleasant odor will be cause by fungus infection which may need doctor prescription of medication to resolve.

3) Smoking
Two major ingredients in cigarettes are sticky and greasy substances that can latch on to the smoker's hands when he holds a cigarette. These are nicotine and tar. Oftentimes nicotine is responsible for the yellower stains and tar for the browner ones.

4) Excessive use of nail polish (dye)
If you constantly wear nail polish, you may be depriving your nails of the oxygen they need to maintain a natural color result in yellow fingernails.

Always let your nails go natural periodically (at least one week in a month) instead of covering them with polish. Another option is to apply a clear base coat before applying your chosen nail polish. This appears to reduce the incidence of yellow fingernails.

Aid: Get the yellow stain off my nail!!!
• Soaking your nail in fresh lemon juice
• Base Polish

• Soaking your nail in fresh lemon juice

Real lemon juice can help whiten and brighten yellow nails (or even your skin :P). Slice open a fresh lemon, and squeeze the juice into a shallow bowl.

Soak your nails in the lemon juice for several minutes, Wash and rinse your hands after treating, and apply lotion to moisturize. Repeat this treatment if necessary.

Lemon juice is naturally rich with fruit acids and natural sugars. Not only does it remove dead skin cells but it also bleaches darkened or discolored areas.

Lemons also contain a high amount of Vitamin C, which is a natural antioxidant help to reduce melanin formation and provide a skin whitening effect when applied topically, when used individually or together can assist in slowing down hyperactive melanocytes and thus resulting in lighter skin. Sounds amazing but it really do works like a bleaching agent to help fade uneven pigmentation and diminish the appearance of such age spots.

• Base Polish
Nail polish is the most common culprit when fingernails turn yellow. Before polishing your nails in the future, consider using a clear base polish that will add a layer of protection between fingernails and colored polish. Your fingernails will be healthier, thicker, and they will be less likely to turn an undesirable shade of yellow.

In looking for a better base polish, try to look at the ingredient label at the back, it should NOT or should contain less of the following toxic chemicals that could be harmful to your nail and body:

1) Food Coloring 色素染料
2) Toluene 甲苯
3) Dibutyl phthalate(DBP) 鄰苯二甲酸二丁
4) Xylene 二甲苯
5) Formaldehyde

Diet:
In case you think lemon juice treatment is too difficult for you, there is another way to get rid of the yellow nail. Which is make them grow faster and trim them off the way.

Our hair and nail is compose of a special protein call Keratin.
To trigger them to growth faster and better, you need to consume more protein.
Best to consume more protein rich food like - meat, yogurt, fish and egg.

Zinc and iron are the other two essential minerals that one help in growth and protect immune system healing and recovery. The other responsible in transport oxygen in blood which help in circulation, enhance and performance of the human body.

Zinc and iron rich food - like seafood, almond, liver, raisin, spinach.

Okay, so I hope you guys find this blog post helpful.
I actually try the lemon juice treatment one time when i forgot to wear my plastic glove while I am dying my hair... but the treatment take just 3 days to lighten up the stain. Definitely worth trying and so let me know if it works for you.
